Pottery Square is located in the heart of the old city, near the Bhaktapur Durbar Square (can take straight narrow alley on southwest corner) and Taumadhi Square (can take the stone paved way towards the Nyatapola Cafe and just follow the direction sign board) of just 5 walking distance from both places. One of the most famous events is the Biska Jatra, the Nepali New Year festival, where a Lyo Sin Dyo (a wooden pole in front/South of Jetha Ganesh erected during the festival Biska Jatra) without arms is raised and lowered at the Jetha Ganesh temple, which is located at the southwest corner of the square. The Jetha Ganesh temple is dedicated to Ganesh with six hands, the elephant-headed god of wisdom and success, and it has a unique feature of having images of Astamatrika and Astabhairava carved on its struts. These are eight goddesses and eight forms of Bhairab, the fierce manifestation of Shiva, who is the patron of the arts and crafts .
